Week 1
In the first week, children will get to know Dele and explore the djembe through fun call-and-response activities building their musical foundation and introducing the story’s main journey.
Learning Focus: Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Music Appreciation, Self-Expression.
Jembe
Week 2-7
Each week, students use the djembe and other instruments to explore a new emotion and track Dele’s inner journey. By translating short story excerpts into visual art and living rhythm, participants bring hidden narrative turning points to life.
Learning Focus: Emotional Literacy, Social Emotional Connections, Communication and Active Listening.
Performance Week
Week 8
In the final week, children will bring their entire journey together for a showcase performance using the skills they have learnt.
